Topic: PDS Best Paper of 2024 - Lack of Evidence for Vaccine-Associated Enhanced Disease From COVID-19 Vaccines Among Adults in the Vaccine Safety Datalink

Description:  Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety (PDS), the official journal of ISPE, presents the Ronald D. Mann Best Paper Award each year to the strongest contribution within a given volume of the journal. The award for 2024 is presented to Dr. Thomas G. Boyce and collaborators for their paper Lack of Evidence for Vaccine-Associated Enhanced Disease From COVID-19 Vaccines Among Adults in the Vaccine Safety Datalink. The paper aimed to detect signals for vaccine-associated enhanced disease (VAED), a theoretical safety concern for all new vaccines, especially those developed using the novel platforms, among adults vaccinated against COVID-19. The study results provide further evidence for lack of VAED with COVID-19 vaccines. In this webinar, co-authors Dr. Boyce and Dr. McClure will present study findings from both clinical and statistical perspectives, followed by comments by Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety associate editor Dr. Filion.
